• Payment information (processed securely via Stripe; we do not store card numbers)

2. Third-Party App Connections

If you choose to connect third-party services (such as Spotify, TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, Strava, Pinterest, or others), we collect data from those services as permitted by their APIs, including:

• Spotify / Apple Music: Top genres, artists, and tracks
• TikTok: Username, bio, and account statistics
• LinkedIn: Job title, industry, and professional headline
• Instagram: Username and biography
• Strava: Activity types and fitness frequency
• Pinterest: Board names and interest categories

This data is used solely to enrich your personality profile and improve match quality. You can disconnect any service at any time from your profile settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Generate your AI personality profile and compatibility scores
• Match you with compatible users
• Send transactional emails (verification, password reset, billing)
• Send push notifications (new matches, messages) — you can opt out anytime
• Improve and develop our services
• Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:

• Other users: Your profile information is visible to your matches as part of the service
• Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the service (e.g., DigitalOcean for hosting, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, OneSignal for push notifications, OpenAI for AI processing)
• Legal authorities: When required by law or to protect the safety of users

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by DigitalOcean. Voice recordings and photos are stored in DigitalOcean Spaces (encrypted at rest). We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, JWT authentication, and bcrypt password hashing.

Daily encrypted backups are performed and retained for 7 days.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten)
• Object to or restrict processing of your data

10. International Users

Our servers are located in the United States. If you access our service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using Settup, you consent to this transfer.
